Breast cancer and the environment – State of the evidence 2008

US-based organisation, Breast Cancer Fund, published its yearly updated report: “State of the evidence 2008: the connection between breast cancer and the environment”. This report is the result of a compilation of a large amount of data on the disease and environmental exposures.

As breast cancer incidence grew and is still growing exponentially in the US, “State of the evidence 2008” focuses on the links between breast cancer and environmental exposures. More specifically, it looks at natural and synthetic estrogens; xenoestrogens and other endocrine-disrupting compounds; carcinogenic chemicals and radiation.

It also takes into account the complexity of the disease when providing analysis on breast cancer causation. To this end it draws attention on timing, products “cocktail”, doses and multi-factors effects.

The report can be dowloaded for free or you can order a hard copy.
