Dr Lilian Corra from ISDE awarded IFCS prize

On 27 May, Dr Lilian Corra, member of the Chemicals Health Monitor steering committee and past president of the International Society of Doctors for the Environment (ISDE), a HEAL member, was announced as the recipient of the Intergovernmental Forum on Chemicals Safety (IFCS) Special Recognition Award.

Dr Lilian Corra, as a founder and current president of the Asociación Argentina de Médicos por el Medio Ambiente (AAMMA) focuses primarily on raising awareness about chemicals and human health, and especially on the impact of chemicals on vulnerable population groups - children. Mr Ravi Argawal, from Toxics Link in India is also a recipient of the prize. The IFCS Special Recognition Award is given to those who contributed in an exceptional way on a special chemical topic or activity.

IFCS Award of Merit recognises outstanding contributions to international activities in chemical safety. The Award was attributed to Barbara Dinham, a former director of Pesticides Action Network UK. Dr Franz Xaver Perrez and Dr Georg Karlaganis jointly received the prize as well.

The award ceremony will be presented during the IFCS 6th session from 15 to 19 September in Dakar, Senegal.
