In the rise of the use of biomonitoring to detect how chemicals are absorbed and used in our body, the issue of how persons should be ethically informed of their chemical’s content has been raised. A series of interviews and research on the part of several experts and scientists involved with biomonitoring was used in a new paper to form conclusions on the future of this practice. Published in the journal Environmental Health this study entitled Toxic ignorance and right-to-know in biomonitoring results communication: a survey of scientists and study participants discusses the conflict in the scientific community over the lengths to which participants in biomonitoring should be informed of their results.
